Family Man, Small Business Owner, Engineer, Idaho Lover

Ben’s Background

Ben is a Boise State University (BSU) graduate where he served as Chair of the BSU College Republicans Club while obtaining his degree in Electrical Engineering. Under his leadership, the club grew to be the largest University Republican club in Idaho. Since graduating Ben has continued his conservative activism as a precinct committeeman and is cofounder and president of the non-profit, Micron Employees for Religious Freedom “MERF.” This organization aims to stop Micron from infringing upon employees’ rights to bodily autonomy, medical privacy, and medical freedom. Ben is committed to the district he lives in as a landlord in Southwest Boise and endeavors to provide comfortable homes for our Idaho residents.

Ben and his wife, Broquelle, are the proud parents of two sons, Ryker and Everett. It is a high priority for them to be able to preserve and maintain a wonderful place to live their family here in Ada County. Ben believes citizens need to step up and speak up if we are to defend our liberties.

My Why’s

Housing

More people are moving to Idaho than this state has ever seen. The question isn't, how do we stop this growth but how do we turn that growth from a problem into a solution. Idahoans are concerned that their children won't be able to afford homes in the state. This is because wages are not keeping up with the cost of living. Affordable housing has never worked anywhere it has been tried. Ben’s solution is to provide more opportunities for Idahoans to succeed rather than offer more state subsidized equity options for equality of outcomes.

Prosperity

We need to find ways to further de-regulate the state so that small business owners can have the best chance for success moving forward. This is one of the ways to give Idahoans more tools for success. If we grow a more competitive environment then big corporations in the treasure valley will have less influence and we can give the citizens more options moving forward. There is no reason to stifle innovation and entrepreneurship in Idaho. Citizens of this state should be able to slap a magnet on their car that says "Taxi" and give people rides at a rate that they deem fair. This is just one of many examples of regulation that we can absolutely afford to do away with.

Lockdowns

All employees are essential. The government has no authority to dictate that you cannot work or run your business. This is antithetical to what this country was founded on and Idaho should never have engaged in such an action. If elected I will fight any form of lockdown that is ever attempted to be enforced moving forward.
